INTRODUCING Renee

INTRODUCING RENEE

We are excited to introduce our new Podiatrist Renee Thorpe, who has joined the team at Southern Sports Podiatry.

Renee works with senior podiatrist and owner, Gareth Milne, who has been helping Queenstown patients with lower limb injuries and pain since 2009.

Upon graduating from the University of South Australia in 2015 Renee completed additional training in:

  • Graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine
  • Foot mobilisation
  • Dry needling
  • Gait retraining
  • Shockwave Therapy
  • 3D print custom-orthotic manufacture or semi-custom orthotics

She has a personal interest in running and tramping, and she’s particularly interested in managing repetitive or chronic musculoskeletal injuries including:

  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Medial tibial stress syndrome
  • Patellofemoral pain
  • Forefoot pathologies (Morton’s Neuroma, plantar plate injuries and intermetatarsal bursitis)
  • Lateral ankle sprains
  • Paediatric conditions (osteochondroses including Severs, Friebergs, Osgood Schlatters)

I believe that one treatment plan does not fit all and must be developed to suit the patient’s needs, goals and lifestyle to get the most successful results.

Renee  also has extensive experience in general treatment including:

  • Partial nail avulsion surgery for ingrown toenails
  • Nail bracing as an alternative treatment for ingrown toenails
  • Verruca treatment, including SWIFT Microwave Therapy
  • Fungal nails with topical, oral and Lunula Laser Therapy
  • Debridement and preventative treatment of corns and calluses

If you have any patients that you think would benefit from a consultation with Renee, please contact the clinic.
